COVID-19 Tests and Lab on Location

(Passports are required)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require passengers flying into the United States to have a negative COVID-19 test prior to travel. This applies even if the passenger's final destination is another country, but they are on a connecting flight that enters the United States first.

International travelers and US citizens will need to have a COVID-19 test within 24 hours prior to their departure from St. Maarten and present documentation of their test results (written or electronic copy). The test required is the nasal swab viral antigen test or nucleic acid amplification test. Children aged two and older must also be tested.

To help you comply with this new travel ruling and for your convenience, Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa has contracted with St. Maarten Laboratory Services (SLS), which will make viral Antigen and PCR tests available on site at special rates for our members and guests ($65 and $95 respectively). The test premises are located in our Member Services Center office (next to Hollywood Casino).
The results of the Antigen Viral Tests will be given in 15 minutes and the results of the PCR Tests within 24 hours.

The Covid19 Test Center at the Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa is open as follows:

Monday to Friday: Open from 10am to 5pm
Saturday and Sunday: Open from 10am to 2pm

Pre-register online for faster service: www.sls.sx/simpsonbay

All guests taking the test must bring their passports in order for the Lab to process their names correctly.

The island of St. Maarten is now open to visitors from all over the world, and Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa remains committed to creating a safe and clean environment for our guests and members to enjoy.

Visitors must take a COVID-19 PCR test and receive negative results within 5 days (120 hours) prior the date of arrival. Antigen Testing will be allowed too.

Currently, the following antigen tests have been approved: Abbott (CGIA Panbio COVID-19 Ag rapid test), Becton Dickinson (CGIA BD Veritor COVID-19 test) and Roche (SD Biosensor F test). The list of acceptable tests is constantly being reviewed as government continues to seek the most accurate alternatives to the PCR test.

We kindly ask our visitors to read the government's safety protocol and travel requirements before traveling to St. Maarten, posted at: https://stmaartenupdates.com
